a gift

we have to realize that we cannot earn or win anything from God through our own efforts. we must either receive it as a gift or do without it. the greatest spiritual blessing we receive is when we come to the knowledge that we are destitute. until we get there, our Lord is powerless. he can do nothing for us as long as we think we are sufficient in and of ourselves. we must enter into his kingdom through the door of destitution. as long as we are "rich," particularly in the area of pride or independence, God can do nothing for us. it is only when we get hungry spiritually that we receive the Holy Spirit. the gift of the essential nature of God is placed and made effective in us by the Holy Spirit.

it's my 26th birthday today. nov. 29.

i am going to do nothing but relish in the moment

and my friends and my family embracing me.

i am joyful. xoxo.

boys like you

"momma always told me. papa always warned me don't hang around with boys like you. teacher always told me never to be naughty; don't mess around with boys like you. if i had a listened wouldn't be in this position. if i had a listened wouldn't be in this position with you."

best part of the day

"You've got to enjoy yourself. The evening's the best part of the day. You've done your day's work. Now you can put your feet up and enjoy it. That's how I look at it. Ask anybody, they'll all tell you. The evening's the best part of the day... I have remained here on this bench to wait the event that has just taken place - namely, the switching on of the pier lights. As I say, the happiness with which the pleasure-seekers gathering on this pier greeted this small event would tend to vouch for the correctness of my companion's words; for a great many people, the evening is the most enjoyable part of the day."

the evening is my favourite part of the day too.

ok fine.

so coming home...

i've had a lot of time to think...

and i've come to these conclusions:

i can't have expectations over people.

AND

i need to learn to let go.

i'm a sensitive person
and sometimes i take things
way too seriously.

maybe i shouldn't anymore...

it's hard, but i'm learning.
and to me it feels like i don't care.
but i like caring!

like, for example, those times when i wished i would
receive a love letter from that special someone,
but never did...

(ps- D.S. you made such a huge effort.
for all those letters... thanks so much.)

but anyway,
no expectations and let go.
ok, will work on that...

(pps- thanks tiff for listening.)
