the ivy

get your swagger on.
literally.

people are dressed to the nines here.
a mix of business people,
after work people
and 20-30 yr olds.
good mix.

tony our dj friend, putting on a good mix of hip hop and electro and rock.

for me, i like attractive venues.
that's what makes or breaks it for me.
if i'll go back again.

this one exceeded my expectations.
6 floors, a den, a lounge, a bar,
a poolside, a resto
and more.

where's the shoreline?

little miss bambi.
one of the newest models
to be the next big thing.

and can't you see why?
her meek and mild face,
strong eyebrows,
pretty hair.
(and she's aussie).

i reckon this would be a fun shoot
to style. all the brights and neons and sparkles.
but of course, i would add my accessories.
gotta have some jewelry!

lil homemaker

while looking for another job,
i have soo much time on my hands.
i'm not complaining, just
only sometimes i get bored.

so i've taken to be a home maker
just like my momma. haha...
laundry, cleaning the bathroom,
and cooking LOTS!

and going for long walks down
crown st. or chinatown for some coffee.
yesterday, i discovered glebe.

glebe is a hood that has the cutest, most
eclectic type of coffee shops around town.

i found a little bookstore
called Sappho's. they had
a hidden wine/cafe bar in the back.

they have musicians perform at nite
in their sheltered, graffiti-ed courtyard.
(i luv it). i'm gonna hafta check that out!

a few nites ago i made cayenne rubbed
chicken with avocado salsa.

and tonite i made broiled prawn scampi
with butternut squash and mushrooms.

but it's no fun only cooking for one.
i wish you guys were here so i
could cook for you too!

i'm learning a lot though
and having fun cooking!

soon i'll be making friends and then
i won't be having to cook for one...

ps- i bought the prawns at the fish market today. it cost me $13 for a kilo! i have soo much! i froze a lot. it looks like i will be making a lotta prawn meals. :)

a lovely day

this is why i luv bondi beach so much.
just look at the super white sand
and the crystal clear water.

moments like these
i can just cast all my cares away
and soak everything in.

just soak up the sun
and feel the lovely sand between
my toes and hear the crash of the waves.

hannah, my new friend.

too bad the icebergs club was cleaning out the pool.

just look at the waves. perfect for the surfers.

ps- happy easter weekend! (again). i have a 5 day weekend here. soo long...

j.crew's brewin

...up a mix of sunny delights!
a splash of brights and citrus colours.

i've never been fond of j.crew,
but after seeing their fall collection
i changed my mind to "i like."

actually i must confess what FIRST
drew me to their fall collection:
i saw the first model
and i know her!

carolyn from vancouver.
the sweetest, smartest
malaysian model i know.

she goes by li ming now.
don't know why they changed
her name, cuz carolyn is lovely...

anyway, i'm very happy for her.
she's one of the few vancouver
models i know who are making it big.
kudos to her.

carolyn

yay more maxi pleated skirts! (in luscious orange)

ps- where are all my buddies? i wrote you a massive email. are you alive na?

easter sunday

he is risen.
he is risen indeed.

i am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic -- on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg -- or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.

kiss and thrills

touched by all that love is
i draw closer toward you.
saddened by all that love is
i run from you.

surprised by all that love is
i remain alert in stillness.
hurt by all that love is
i yearn for tenderness.

defeated by all that love is
at the truthful mouth of the night.
forsaken by all that love is
i will grow toward you.

good friday

today is a good friday.
what a glorious day.
i am saved.
thank you Jesus.

i went to the sydney entertainment centre
today and celebrated with other hillsongers.

swishy-swishy

right now,
i'm CRAZAY about
sheer pleated skirts.

maxi ones.
midi ones.
silky ones.
neon ones.

i found a baby pink
midi pleated one
at the thrift shop
i luv it.

i like wearing mine with a simple
t-shirt or fitted sweater tucked in.
and with lace-up boots.

that's the way boys are

love, loving and lovely

the love for equals is a human thing- of friend for friend, brother for brother. it is to love what is loving and lovely. the world smiles. the love for the less fortunate is a beautiful thing- the love for those who suffer, for those who are poor, the sick, the failures, the unlovely. this is compassion, and it touches the heart of the world.

the love for the more fortunate is a rare thing- to love those who succeed where we fail, to rejoice without envy with those who rejoice, the love of the poor for the rich, of the black man for the white man. the world is always bewildered by its saints.

and then there is the love for the enemy- love for the one who does not love you but mocks, threatens, and inflicts pain. the tortured's love for the torturer. this is God's love. it conquers the world.

i spy with my little eye

nucha came to visit me from bkk!
that was fun and exciting.

we did a lotta touristy stuff
like go see the opera house,
the botanical gardens,
manly beach...

and proceed to eat lots and lots
of food and drink lots and lots of wine.

we walked everywhere and did so much.
everyday was packed to the brim
that when he left, i had nothing to do
and soo much time on my hands!

up close and personal with the opera house.

view of the CBD from the opera house.

cockatoos everywhere at the royal botanical gardens.

japanese tacos and tequila shots.

the opera house is magical at nite.

on the ferry going to manly beach.

wine in mcdonald's cups. soo classy.

the hugest lobster i've ever seen or eaten.

seeeee? it was a lot na!
all in 3 days. phew.

and still there's so many things
to see and do.

i'm gonna take everything in stride
and spread things out.
but at the same time, i will
take advantage of all the time i have...
