well the look was contemporary minimalism for celine this spring. normally, i'm not that fond of celine, but this season's collection made me think twice. i would say celine is usually targeted towards the 30-40yr old women, but this time around, this collection is mine! "classy utilitarianism is sexy." what made my eye drag to phoebe philo's celine is the leather. in all styles and colours.

balmain. the epitome of the new york party girl. it was disco meets military. the shirts were destroyed and artfully tattered. who knew a ripped t-shirt could look so good??? gold-camouflage-sequins-leather. what a nice combo. already got the leather pants, just need to add something structured on the top. thank you christophe decarnin for appealing to our desires.

anna molinari sure knows how to attract customers to blumarine. i luv blumarine, because it is always a no-fuss, carefree, easy to wear type of collection. this season it's bang on. the bright, psychedelic colours, tie-dye, hippy dresses... i'll be wearing similar styles very soon.

leonardo da vinci was a genius. no other way to describe him. yesterday night i went to the vancouver art gallery with lisa and vivian and saw his works of art. i learned so many new things about him.

DID YOU KNOW:

*he wrote backwards from right to left so you could read it as a mirror image, only because he was left-handed. ex. olleh = hello.

*he never intended to keep his research a secret. he was actually trying to make a study book for students and get it published, but was never able to finish.

*he discovered that you can make the neck of a goose or swan sing after it is dead.

*he invented contraptions for driving and flying 500 years ago.

*his sketches for the human body are so intricate and accurate that for the spinal vertebra picture no one else can copy or make a better sketch of it.

*the vitruvian man (the circle around the naked man) was a drawing meant to encompass and decipher the human being and the universe as a whole together.

they put on a good show at commodore. it wasn't that amazing since i don't know all their songs. i like "tightrope." it was interesting nonetheless. their music is experimental, ambient, rock. a crazy mix. i'm always down for new music. me, vivian and tim.
